SSS reminds employers in Abra to pay dues on time

BANGUED, Abra (PIA) – At least six employers in Bangued, Abra were reminded of some problems with their remittances to the Social Security System (SSS).

Personnel from the SSS Luzon North Division 1 led by legal counsel  Atty. Warden Domingo and personnel from the SSS Bangued Branch headed by branch chief Edward Urua with some local media recently served orders to employers in the capital town who were not able to pay SSS contributions for their employees.
 
“Inpakaamo tayo kaniada nu ania dagidiay violations da ket imbaga tayo met laeng nga umay da after 15 days tapno iti kasta ket ag-comply da ken mapagsaritaan nu kasanu ti panag-comply da,” Domingo explained.
 
He added that this Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) activity of the SSS ensures that employers comply with their obligations to remit the SSS dues of their employees.
 
The lawyer also warned employers who will not comply within the 15 days period of the consequences of not paying SSS remittances.

“Maikan da metlaeng dagiti employers nga haan nag-comply. Mai-endorse tu dayta ti final demand letter ta nu awan ti compliance dagiti employers tayo iti final demand letter, ket i-endorse tun ti SSS Bangued ti Legal Department tayo for filing of case,” he said.

During the post RACE activity meeting, SSS Bangued Senior Specialist Danica Guerzon urged employers, especially those with overdue remittances and other concerns to visit their office for assistance.
 
“Ti employers tayo ditoy Bangued ket adda met ti sumagmamanu nga maka-liway ti panagbayad da ti employees da. Adda kami met ditoy nga mangbayabay kanyada tapno matulungan isu da,” she said.
 
The SSS conducts the RACE  monthly to ensure that employers comply with the payment of their employees’ contributions to SSS.
 
Under the Social Security Act of 2018, employees covered by the SSS are given financial protection against hazards of disability, sickness, maternity, old age, and death among others.(JJPM-PIA Abra)
