SIAY, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Zamboanga Sibugay Second District Engineering Office is making significant infrastructure development with the ongoing construction of a new access road in Barangay Camanga, Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

With a budget of P90 million allocated to the project, the road is set to pave a total net length of 1,907 linear meters. The newly constructed road will feature a carriageway width of 6.10 meters and a thickness of 0.28 meters of cement concrete pavement, ensuring durability and longevity.

The project also includes the installation of vital infrastructure such as pipe culverts, stone masonry, grouted riprap, reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings, and metal guardrails, all aimed at guaranteeing safety for motorists and pedestrians alike.

Jade Teves, a student and resident in the area, expressed her gratitude for the initiative, highlighting the benefits it brings to the community. 

"This concrete road will enhance transportation safety and accessibility, facilitating easier commutes to school and work. Additionally, it will create opportunities for economic activities and improve the livelihoods of residents," said Teves.

The initiative not only provides safer and more efficient transportation routes for locals and motorists but also holds the promise of catalyzing socio-economic growth. Enhanced connectivity is expected to stimulate economic activities, leading to improved livelihoods and overall development in Barangay Camanga.
