PATEROS, (PIA) -- Good news! Twenty-four deserving and former persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and some of their relatives, recently received livelihood packages from the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR).

In collaboration with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-National Capital Region (BJMP-NCR) and the Municipal Government of Pateros, headed by Mayor Miguel Ponce III, DOLE-NCR presented the ‘Kabuhayan’ assistance, which includes seven (7) carinderia packages and 17 Nego-Kart packages, amounting to over P700,000.

DOLE-NCR Field Office Director Lilibeth Caraga said that beneficiaries can ask for a livelihood enhancement after three years if their livelihood is growing.

The ‘Nego-Kart’ or Negosyo sa Kariton is a program that provides ambulant vendors with services that will enable them to increase, upgrade, and diversify their products or services and market these to a greater number of buyers or customers. (DOLE-NCR/PIA-NCR)
