MANILA, (PIA) -- A weekly radio program, "Impormasyon at Aksyon sa Bagong Pilipinas," aims to bring a "positive and entertaining" spin to Philippine development efforts.
Anchored by "Mr. DG" – Director-General Jose A. Torres Jr. of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) – the newly launched commentary and public service program over DZRB Radyo Pilipinas RP-1, 738KHz AM, features interviews with key government personalities and development communicators.
Torres said that during these challenging times, it's important to share stories of progress and inspire hope.
This program will provide a platform for showcasing government efforts at the national and local levels, while empowering listeners through “accurate, relevant, and timely” information, he added.
The one-hour radio program, initially aired on April 4, and every Wednesday thereafter from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. also focuses on good stories and highlights ongoing initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Filipinos.
Torres said the program goes beyond simply delivering news and seeks to engage listeners with an upbeat format featuring interviews, discussions, and even success stories from everyday Filipinos.
By highlighting positive developments, Impormasyon at Aksyon aims to cultivate a sense of optimism and inspire action, he added.
During the program's latest episode, Mr. DG guested Mohammed Hussein Pangandaman, the Administrator and CEO of the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) to share updates and programs on the free economic zone.
PIA National Capital Region Head Emver Cortez also visited as guest and shared some of the good news happening across Metro Manila in response to pressing issues.
It can be recalled that the PIA and RP recently inked an agreement for the latter to help in providing a channel for the grassroots development communication agency to disseminate the government’s communication imperatives on progress under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
