Nueva Vizcaya gives P2M aid for ASF-hit hog raisers

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) -- African Swine Fever–affected hog raisers in the province received financial assistance from the provincial government amounting to P2 million.

The financial assistance was handed by Governor Jose Gambito to the 3,000 member Hog Producers Association of the province headed by its president Marlo Agbanlog.

Governor Gambito said the P2 million financial assistance which was soruced out from the  Quick Response Fund of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office is part of the sustained program of the provincial government to enable hog raisers to cushion the impact of ASF outbreak in the province.

Marlo Agbanlog, HPA president, thanked the provincial government for the timely assistance.

“This financial assistance is a big help for us to recover from the devastating effects of the ASF,” he said.

Agbanlog said the the financial assistance will be distributed among the HPA members whose swine are at the growing stage to enable the recipients to cope up with the high costs of hog raising.

Aside from Governor Gambito and HPA President Agbanlog, former Governor Ruth Padilla, Dr. Patricio Moreno, Provincial Veterinary Services Officer and PDRRM Officer King Webster Balawing joined the awarding of the financial assistance to the hog raisers. (BME/PIA NVizcaya)
