BUENAVISTA, Marinduque (PIA) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) together with the local government of Buenavista recently implemented community activities concerning beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps).

In line with the government’s commitment to empower its citizens, an initiative has been pursued in different barangays of Buenavista. Among the activities conducted are Community Disaster Preparedness Lecture with a theme 'Listong Pamilyang Pilipino laban sa Sakuna,' distribution of leaflets in relation to women month celebration, and cash grant payout and seminars among 4Ps recipients.

A family development session was also carried out, discussing topics including proper child rearing, rights and opportunities for women, cash card maintenance process, and information dissemination on establishing a business.

These events were supervised by the Buenavista LGU personnel, including representatives from Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Social Welfare and Development Office.

Through these undertakings, the LGU’s mission to foster the life of the citizens will be achieved, together with the community’s readiness on calamity and disasters. (RAMJR/CDSN/ PIA Mimaropa – Marinduque)
