BUENAVISTA, Marinduque (PIA) -- The local government of Buenavista, in conjunction with the dedicated Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Dos, successfully collaborated with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)-Marinduque to offer digital literacy training to its youth beneficiaries, all with the shared objective of providing high-quality public service to its residents.

The purpose of this activity was to increase the participants' knowledge by teaching them a variety of ICT topics that will certainly be helpful as they go in this world of advanced and modern technology.

Cybersecurity and student data protection are among the topics covered in the training program. Additionally, they imparted knowledge on how to use spreadsheets, multimedia presentations, document processing, and other productivity tools, as well as lessons on how to use the Canva software to increase participants' creativity.

The youth members of Barangay Dos eagerly engaged in this three-day training, headed by Sangguniang Kabataan chairperson Cris Leehan R. Siena.

"By spearheading activities such as digital literacy training, we were able to equip young people like us with essential knowledge while at the same time foster a sense of readiness for the challenges that lie ahead. The activity itself not only enriches the skills of different individuals but also contributes to the development and progress of the community by creating a digitally competent and empowered generation," Siena said.

By teaching the community members improved abilities for using technology-related products and services, these trainings from DICT Marinduque will tremendously help the municipality in its quest for technological digitalization. (RAMJR/VSR/PIA Mimaropa - Marinduque)
