Rotarians donate mobile clinic to Virac

VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA) -- The municipal government of Virac has recently acquired a cutting-edge mobile clinic that will significantly improve the delivery of healthcare services.

Dubbed as the "Genuine Service on Wheels," this mobile clinic will provide vital support to the medical team of Virac's Rural Health Unit (RHU) during medical missions.

It will also facilitate the provision of healthcare services in remote areas where residents often face challenges in accessing essential medical care in the RHU.

Virac Municipal Health Officer Elva Joson said the mobile clinic is equipped with advanced medical equipment that allows it to conduct patient assessments, administer basic healthcare treatments, perform minor surgeries, and conduct seminars on proper hygiene and fundamental health education.

This multifaceted approach ensures that residents in even the most underserved communities receive comprehensive healthcare services, she said.

The Rotary Club of Virac donated the mobile clinic, with support from its partners in Korea – the Rotary Club of Jinju Seogyeong and the Rotary Club of Jinju East.

On April 19, Friday, Virac Mayor Samuel Laynes and Rotary Club of Virac president Maria Cleofe Laynes signed a memorandum of agreement for the donation.

The state-of-the-art facility, with a total funding of $30,300, embodies the spirit of international cooperation for the betterment of healthcare delivery, according to the Rotary head. (PIA 5/Catanduanes)
