Cagayan barangays to get P500k each under ‘No Barangay Left Behind’ program

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) -- Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba gave his assurance that the provincial government will continue to distribute aid to barangays through the "No Barangay Left Behind" (NBLB) program during the re-launch of the program in Tuguegarao City.

The NBLB program is included in the Cagayan Development Agenda (Caganda 2025)  wherein the provincial government will directly disburse funds to the province’s 820 barangays.

The NBLB program was started in 2016 at the start of Mamba’s term in office.

From P300,000, each barangay now receives P500,000 to be utilized for their hard and soft projects.

Mamba said that the hard projects include the renovation of various barangay facilities, such as the barangay hall, renovation of roads, and installation of street lights, while the soft projects include the utilization of the honoraria of Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Barangay Health Workers, Day Care Workers, and Barangay Tanods.

"Ammok ti pagkurangan yo isu daytoy apo mangibaba nak iti ponpondo. The funds I downloaded to you are unprecedented not only in Cagayan but even in the entire country," the governor said in Iloko.

(I know that one of the challenges at the barangay level is funding; that’s why the provincial government launched this project. The funds that I downloaded to you are unprecedented not only in Cagayan but even in the entire country.)

On the other hand, the provincial government also invited the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 02 to conduct an orientation on the government’s program of anti-illegal drugs for all the barangay officials who attended the re-launch of the NBLB. (OTB/MDCT/PIA Cagayan)
