ILIGAN CITY (PIA) -- The Philippine Ballet Theatre (PBT) brought its artistry to Iligan City, captivating audiences with a performance titled "Music in Motion."
Held at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) gymnasium, the show was organized by Iligan Light and Power, Inc. (ILPI) as a gesture of appreciation to the city for its continuing support of the company.
“ILPI did the show as "Handog Pasasalamat sa Iligan" for the opportunity to be of service to the city for almost 100 years, now. Also, to expose Iliganons to real ballet artists from the ballet company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines nga dili jud sayon-sayon nato makita (that is not something we see every day)," said Casa Belandres, ILPI's group manager for human resources and administration.
Around 1,500 people from various sectors such as local government units, businesses, schools, banks, religious groups/churches, and media organizations across the city, were invited to the free show.
The PBT presented a three-part showcase, beginning with "Vinta," a tribute to the graceful movements of Mindanao's traditional seafaring vessels. The performance then featured melodies by Jose Mari Chan, culminating in renditions of classics "Kailangan Kita" and "Kay Ganda Ng Ating Musika."

Aligned with ILPI's commitment to corporate social responsibility, PBT artists conducted ballet workshops for over 100 college students from MSU-IIT and approximately 70 high school students from Iligan City East National High School, Iligan City National High School and St. Michael's College.
