CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – A total of 13 Super Health Centers will be constructed in different places in Palawan, as announced by Senator Christopher Lawrence 'Bong' Go during his visit in the province recently.

Go said that the Super Health Centers to be built will be located in the towns of Balabac, Sofronio Española, Taytay, Barangay Caruray in San Vicente, El Nido, Barangay Magara and Barangay Tumarbong in Roxas, and Araceli. Also included in these 13 Super Health Centers are the ones that will be built in the municipality of Quezon, where Go led the groundbreaking ceremony on April 24.

Go said the centers will benefit mostly the residents in rural areas who have less access to primary health care, especially now with the implementation of the Universal Health Care Law.

He emphasized that through these health centers, the overcrowding of patients in hospitals will be reduced.

“Ang Super Health Center ay isang medium type of a full clinic, pwede po dyan ang panganganak, at mga laboratory, at ang ikinaganda po nito ay ma-decongest ang mga ospital. Halimbawa po kung tayo ay nasa probinsya, hindi na kinakailangang pumunta pa ng ospital,” Go said.

Apart from this project, Sen. Go said that Republic Act (RA) No. 11959 or the Regional Specialty Center Act, which is also one of the priorities of President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr., is also set to be implemented.

The senator further explained that under this law, the Department of Health is designated to establish specialty centers in its hospitals in every region and in GOCC specialty hospitals, prioritizing cancer care, cardiovascular care, lung care, renal care and kidney transplant, brain and spine care, trauma care, and burn care.
