More than P9M livelihood assistance to be awarded to Abrenians on Labor Day

BANGUED, Abra (PIA) – A total of P9,459,517 livelihood kits, checks, and TUPAD wages will be awarded to beneficiaries from the different municipalities in Abra during the celebration of Labor Day on May 1.

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Abra provincial head Christopher Tugadi shared in a Saritaan iti Abra press conference that aside from the livelihood fair and other services, the Labor Day celebration will also highlight the distribution of  awards to beneficiaries during the opening program.


“One is the awarding of the DOLE livelihood kits para sa 39 na beneficiaries natin. Another is the awarding ng mga livelihood checks sa ating mga partners  na local government units and associations, and also we also have the awarding of TUPAD checks sa dalawang LGUs natin,” he shared.


Tugadi added that a total of P1,071,543 will be given to six beneficiaries of hog raising projects, 14 for goat breeding, 8 for handloom weaving, three for sari-sari store, and eight for negokart projects.

Meanwhile, a total of P5,728,069 worth of  livelihhod checks will be distributed to three local government units (LGU). Boliney will receive P2,077,410 for the 118 beneficiaries of the Salaknib Tree Planter Organization, and Barangay Amti Boliney Association.


LGU Lagayan will also get P786,500 for the 32 beneficiaries of the Pang-ot Nagba Farmers Association, and P2,864,159 is allotted to LGU Luba covering 117 beneficiaries from the Demanel Farmer Irrigators Association, DAPAT MINAL Farmers Association, and Luzong Dapt, Nabulen, Sallupak Owner and Farmers Association.
 
For the TUPAD payout, 249 beneficiaries of LGU Danglas will receive P1,206,405 while Tayum with 300 TUPAD workers will be given P1,453,500.

Aside from the livelihood assistance, Tugadi disclosed that a total of 53 Government Intership Program interns who worked in the different government agencies will also receive their salaries as part of the Labor Day celebration.


The Labor Day celebration in Abra set on May 1-3 will also feature different services of government offices and partners including the market on wheels, business counselling, legal aid, health and wellness, skills demonstration, and blood letting.
 


“We invite everyone to grab the opportunity since marami tayong free services na io-offer ng partners natin, and we also have products na pwede ninyong mabili. Please support our livelihood exhibitors during our Labor Day event so we can also help them in their livelihood endeavors,” Tugadi said.
 


The Labor Day  celebration with the theme “Sa Bagong Pilipinas: Manggagawang Pilipino, Kabalikat at Kasama sa Pag-asenso” aims to recognize the role of Filipino workers in the development and progress of the country.(JDP/JJPM-PIA Abra)
