Over 11,000 jobs up for grabs at Labor Day job fair in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is gearing up for a massive job fair offering at least 11,097 positions to jobseekers in Pangasinan and nearby provinces.

The event, happening on Labor Day, May 1, aims to connect Pangasinenses with potential employers and provide fresh graduates an opportunity to take their first step into the workforce.

“This year's job fair is open to all applicants and features 8,031 local jobs and 3,066 overseas opportunities,” shared Panfilo Dioquino, labor and employment officer of DOLE-Central Pangasinan.

The job fair will be held simultaneously at three venues for wider reach: the Capitol Complex in Lingayen, CSI Atrium in Dagupan City, and Magic Mall in Urdaneta City.

All venues will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The event will feature 76 recruiters from leading companies ready to interview, review resumes, and connect with talented job seekers.

Aside from interviews and resume screening, the event will gather representatives from various government agencies offering services to attendees.

These agencies include the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Social Security System (SSS), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and the Pag-IBIG Fund.

For professionals seeking to renew their licenses or certifications, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will conduct a mobile outreach program at the Lingayen and Urdaneta City venues.

Services include initial registration, ID renewal and duplication, application processing for certifications and clearances, and good standing verification.

Those interested in PRC services are encouraged to pre-register online at online.prc.gov.ph to secure a slot.

Job seekers are highly encouraged to pre-register for the event at bit.ly/R1LaborDayJF2024.

This will help streamline the process and allow them to focus on interviewing and impressing potential employers.

Dioquino advised applicants to come prepared with their resumes, credentials, and a positive attitude to make a strong impression and potentially land a job on the spot.

The job fair offers positions across various industries, including construction (mason, welder, electrician), engineering (industrial engineer, structural engineer), healthcare (nurse, nursing specialist), customer service, sales, transportation (bus driver, mechanic), and office administration (accountant, office support staff).

This year's Labor Day celebration carries the theme "Sa Bagong Pilipinas: Manggagawang Pilipino, Kabalikat at Kasama sa Pag-Asenso."  (JCR/AMB/EMSA/PIA Pangasinan)
