Over 1K job vacancies in Ilocos Norte offered on Labor Day jobs fair

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte -- In celebration of the 122nd Labor Day, the  Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Ilocos Norte is all set to conduct a massive jobs fair on May 1 at Robinsons Place in San Nicolas town from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Through this activity, DOLE strives to provide a venue for both skilled and unskilled individuals to explore a wide range of career opportunities in various sectors.


With 28 employers offering more than 1,000 local job vacancies, the agency aims to boost the chances that applicants be hired-on-the-spot in their choice of career.


Jobseekers will find a variety of vacancies in different industries such as food service, hotels, restaurants, security, and accounting companies. 


Aside from job opportunities, the jobs fair will also include a variety of services to help job seekers improve their employability.


These programs include resume writing seminars, career counseling, and skill-building sessions. Representatives from several government agencies will provide information on social assistance programs and other support services for the job seekers through a one-stop-shop system.


Cloie Dela Rosa, jobs fair coordinator, expressed excitement for the upcoming jobs fair, stating, "We are hoping that the DOLE Job Fair in Ilocos Norte will significantly contribute to the region's employment landscape. Our goal is to provide a diverse range of job opportunities for our fellow Ilocanos and help them achieve financial stability and personal growth."


Moreover, the event will also feature a learning session for workes in the informal sector, salary payout for the beneficiaries of DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD), Diskwento Caravan, ceremonial awarding of integrated livelihood projects, awarding of Certificate of Appreciation to program partners of Government Internship Program (GIP), and Kadiwa ng Pangulo.


This year’s Labor Day celebration in Ilocos Norte is in partnership with the Office of the First District Representative Sandro Marcos, Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte through its Public Employment Service Office. (JCR/MJTAB/JAAS-intern PIA Ilocos Norte)
