“The sessions are instrumental in enhancing our understanding of the needs of the constituents as well as the different regulatory processes. We must be well-equipped to address issues related to the price and supply situation of the different commodities, as well as other consumer concerns,” Dy said.
Dy likewise said emphasis was placed on fostering collaboration among the LPCC members to ensure cohesive and timely responses to consumer concerns.
Dy, along with Trade and Industry Development Specialist Dominic T. Salvador, also presented several DTI programs, activities and projects for the different municipalities to adopt such as the Enactment of Price Tag Ordinance, Institutionalization of the Price and Supply Database, Regular updating of the Price Information Boards, Sealing and Testing of Weights and Measures, and Conduct of Regular Inspection, and the Establishment of Timbangan ng Bayan.
“These collaborative undertakings are necessary to foster a consumer-friendly LGU by protecting the interests of Quirinians," Dy said as she lauded the dedication of the local government units in prioritizing consumer rights, implementing measures to ensure fair pricing and quality products or services, and providing accessible venues for addressing consumer concerns.
