DPWH to improve facility for senior citizens of Malabon

MANILA, (PIA) -- Good news! Acknowledging the need for better facilities for senior citizens, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Malabon-Navotas District Engineering Offices is improving the previously dilapidated two-story Tugatog Senior Citizens’ Organization (TUSCO) Building into a modernized three-story building.

The Senior Citizens Multi-Purpose Building in Barangay Tugatog, Malabon City, serves as a vital community center specifically designed to cater to the needs of senior citizens in the area.

According to DPWH, the new structure aims to provide enhanced facilities, as it features function rooms and additional open areas with specially designed elements such as accessibility for persons with disability (PWDs), grab bars, wider doors, and proper signages.

Likewise, TUSCO’s activities such as venue for daily gathering, healthcare services, and engaging physical activities like ballroom dancing will now have a new and better place.

The DPWH believes that thru the building, the diverse needs of senior citizens will be better addressed, and will promote inclusivity, and create supportive and empowering space for all members of the community. (DPWH/PIA-NCR)
