CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro, led by Governor Humerlito 'Bonz' Dolor, has distributed a substantial array of sports equipment to 261 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members from the 1st district.

The event was organized by the Special Concerns Division (SCD). It is a testament to the local government’s commitment to nurturing young talents and fostering leadership among the youth.

During the ceremony, Dolor handed over the equipment, which includes basketballs, volleyballs, volleyball nets, badminton rackets, shuttlecocks, and softballs.

The initiative was part of a broader P4.4 million investment in youth sports across the province, which aims to enhance physical education and provide recreational opportunities for the young populace.

In his speech, Dolor emphasized the importance of the SK members, recognizing them as potential future leaders in the political landscape of Oriental Mindoro.

“Our youth are not just leaders of tomorrow but also our partners of today. By equipping our young SK members with sports equipment, we are investing in a healthier, more active, and more engaged youth population,” said Dolor.

The SK members expressed their gratitude and excitement about the new equipment, which will undoubtedly enhance their sports programs and activities at the community level.
