DOLE-10 turns over P5-M TUPAD wages, P3.3-M livelihood starter kits to MisOcc towns

MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 turned over 674 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) of their P5.4 million for their wages to Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) through Barangay Taguite, Tangub City Chairperson Mamerto F. Singgit, and livelihood financial grants worth P3.3 million to Jimenez Municipal Mayor Joselito Chiong for the starter kits of 15 Jimenez town informal sector individuals on January 15 at Tangub City.

DOLE Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office Chief Ebba Acosta said the TUPAD beneficiaries earned P 405 per day for their 20 days of emergency employment-community work. 

Moreover, the livelihood grants under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program received projects on haircutting and hair styling materials worth P15,000 each for the 10 beneficiaries and carpentry equipment and materials worth P30,000 each for the remaining five individuals. 

Both programs are part of the government’s agenda of inclusive growth through massive job generation and poverty reduction. (DOLE-Misamis Occidental/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
