NorMin Social Dev't Committee reviews P109 billion 2025 budget of agencies, SUCs

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Social Development Committee of the Regional Development Council-X, chaired by Mayor Erick G. Cañosa of Gingoog City, reviewed the P109.20 billion worth of proposed programs, projects and activities for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 of 20 social sector agencies and state universities and colleges during the 1st Quarter 2024 meeting cum Budget Hearing, 22 February, at the RDC-X / NEDA-X Main Conference Room, this city.

The bulk of the FY 2025 proposed budget is attributed to basic education (48%), followed by health (19%) and social welfare (13%). Total statutory allocation or budget directed to gender and development and vulnerable groups is estimated at P12.22 billion (11%), while financial commitment to attain the Sustainable Development Goals is at P34.61 billion (32%).

The firmed-up proposals will be presented to the RDC-X Full Council on 14 March 2024 for endorsement to agency central offices and the Department of Budget and Management.

The Committee also endorsed the following proposals to the RDC-X Full Council: change in scope and increase in cost of the Philippine Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Project and the Philippine Health System Resilience Project. (NEDA-X/PIA-10)
