Furthermore, it will provide convenient transportation of goods and services to businesses and the general public in the province and northern Mindanao.

This infrastructure project is also expected to increase enrollment in the province's higher learning institutions, thus making MisOcc an educational center in this part of Mindanao. The bridge is set to be completed in August 2024 and will open up opportunities for tourism development.

According to Gov. Oaminal, the Panguil Bay Bridge will provide accessibility for bringing services to the people of MisOcc and will help in realizing the province's 5Ms development thrust. This bridge will hasten the goal of making Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon.

The infrastructure project connecting Misamis Occidental to Lanao Del Norte was initiated during the administration of President Noynoy Aquino and continued under the present administration of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos.

The governor expressed gratitude for the realization of the bridge, which is also a good infrastructure in the government's program of bringing government services closer to the people.

“Pasalamat ta, this bridge na realize of course ubay-ubay ang naagian ani nga administration that started with the late President Noynoy Aquino up to the leadership of President Macros, and this is also a good infrastructure sa programa nga atong gina supportahan ang bag-ong Pilipinas—bringing the services of the government closer to the people,” he said.

[Thank you; this bridge has been realized. Of course, many presidents have passed through this administration, starting with the late President Noynoy Aquino up to the leadership of President Macros. This is also a good infrastructure program that we are supporting in the new Philippines, bringing the services of the government closer to the people.]

Oaminal shared the significant impact of the bridge, which now connects the province to all the regions of Mindanao and enhances transportation links between the provinces.

The bridge is seen to reduce travel time between the two provinces to seven minutes from the two to two and a half hours of land travel through Panguil Bay Road or the one hour and 30 minutes via roll-on, roll-off vessels operating from Ozamiz City to Mukas Port. (PGMO/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
