Lanao del Sur farmers to benefit from MAFAR's corn storage facility

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA) -- The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) led the groundbreaking ceremony for a cutting-edge corn seed storage with solar dryer in Dagolonan, Tagoloan town, on March 8.

The facility has a 20m x 30m solar dryer and a 15m x 20m storage area. The infrastructure protects crop varieties, minimizes harvest losses, and bolsters the local food supply.

MAFAR Provincial Director Khalid Ansano expressed his gratitude to all officials involved in the project and MAFAR Minister Muhammad Yacob for his capable leadership. He also praised the farmers who will gain from the program, recognizing their vital role in advancing agricultural growth in BARMM.

I anticipate that this project will benefit not only the farmers in the area but also those in other barangays of the municipality of Tagoloan," Ansano emphasized.

The groundbreaking event demonstrated MAFAR's dedication to supporting Bangsamoro farmers with programs designed to secure their long-term viability.

Analyn Arnado of the Dagolonan Pangkabuhayan Cooperative Services expressed appreciation for the project. "Maraming salamat po at may dumating na ganitong programa mula sa BARMM para sa aming mga magsasaka dito sa aming barangay," she stated. (MAFAR/PIA-10 Lanao del Sur)
