Leadership Training for Women at the Museo ni Ramon Magsaysay

CASTILLEJOS, ZAMBALES – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) – Museo ni Ramon Magsaysay (MRM) will conduct a Gender and Development (GAD) training workshop titled ‘Gabriela 2.0: Finding your Purpose in the Community and Telling HERStory with Accuracy’ on 24 March 2024, 9:00 AM at the MRM E-Learning Room.

The activity aims to educate and train young women leaders on their significant role in providing positive changes in the society and to fight historical distortion that is lethal in our history and culture.  The training workshop will be facilitated by Ms. Danielle Marie B. Jordan, Tourism Officer of Intramuros Administration.

This year’s theme for National Women’s Month is ‘Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patunayan!’  highlighting the accomplishments of women and encouraging gender equality.  It also hopes to recognize the capabilities and potentials of women to effect a positive change in the society.

This activity is in celebration of Women’s Month in accordance with Proclamation No. 227 s. 1988, which provides for the observation of the month of March as “Women’s Role in History Month” while Republic Act 6949 s. 1990, declares March 8 of every year as International Women’s Day.  Both proclamations were signed by President Corazon C. Aquino.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
