PVO distributes supplies to poultry farmers affected by calamities

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA) -- The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) led the last batch of distributions of essential supplies to livestock and poultry farmers grappling with the aftermath of calamities.

All Municipal Agriculture Offices received sacks of hog grower hog starter, chicken starter, and chicken crumble feeds, along with vital vitamins, to help farmers affected by calamities like the African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak and the low-pressure area (LPA), which have severely impacted their livelihoods.

Taken under the 5 percent Local Disaster Risk Reduction Fund of CY 2024, Gov. Imelda 'Angging' Quibranza-Dimaporo emphasized the province's commitment to providing timely assistance to affected farmers.

"Daghan mga programa ang probinsya para sa atong mga katawhan, muduol lang kamo sa Provincial Veterinary Office for assistance," she said.

[There are many programs in the province for our people; you just need to approach the Provincial Veterinary Office for assistance.]

Present during the distribution activity were the Provincial Veterinarian, Dr. Fritzie Provido and her staff, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member and Committee Chairman on Agriculture Reinario Bihag. (PIO Lanao del Norte/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
