Padullo recalled the beginning of SMDEO as Sub-DEO in 1998, until it became a regular DEO in 2000 to present, marking significant accomplishments that contribute to the progress and development of the 2nd District of Oriental Mindoro—a celebration in honor of the predecessors up until the recent DPWH SMDEO family for doing their best in delivering the mandated services of infrastructure improvement and development. The construction of said projects is in preparation for the next generation of SMDEO family to be more skilled to conquer the challenges of this fast-paced infrastructure improvements and modernization.

“A space for our growing workforce. A space where we can translate people with skills. A space where we can translate equipment and facilities. A space where we can translate the support of our top management from the central and regional offices. A space where we can translate the support and vision of our leaders for more positivities and possibilities. A place where we can translate the cooperation of the stakeholders we serve—which is the goal, to serve the public with delight,” Padullo further stated.

“This is a very concrete testament of what we want to have in the future,” RD Pacanan said, identifying Mindoro as SMART—Strategically-located, having easier Mobility and Accessibility, Resilient, and Technologically-advanced, being the middle point among the Mimaropa provinces, which makes him to have a vision of also having a satellite (regional) office beside the SMDEO.

A festive venue and a marching band welcomed everybody as they concluded the groundbreaking ceremony. From then, DPWH Mimaropa Region and Southern Mindoro DEO committed to continuously work together to better serve the community and society. (DPWH-SMDEO)
