Oroquieta City welcomes construction of metro central mall

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA) -- Oroquieta City celebrated a significant milestone with the groundbreaking for the Metro Central Mall on April 23.

The event, attended by mall executives, City Mayor Lemuel Meyrick Acosta, Vice Mayor Aurora Virginia Almonte, and Vice Governor Rowena Gutierrez, marked the commencement of a new phase in the city's development. The ceremony took place at the project site located in Upper Langcangan, beside the UCCP Church.

Acosta expressed his enthusiasm about the occasion, stating, "Today, history is in our midst, and this is a date that the whole of Oroquieta will never forget. A little later, we will witness the groundbreaking ceremony that will pave the way for the construction and opening of Oroquieta City's first-ever mall - the Metro Central Mall,"

Highlighting the significance of the mall, Acosta emphasized its role in Oroquieta's transformation into a bustling urban center. "The name of the mall itself, Metro Central, affirms that sooner or later, our city will become a Metropolis, a big and prosperous city in the province of Misamis Occidental and the whole of Region 10. This is what will become of Oroquieta in the coming years,” he said.

The Mayor expressed confidence that the mall will not only provide Oroquietanons with a malling experience but also attract visitors from across Misamis Occidental, contributing to the city's economic growth and development.

Provincial Vice Governor Rowena Gutierez conveyed the message of Governor Henry Oaminal and expressed pride and gratitude for the groundbreaking ceremony.
