DSWD Northern Mindanao opens P45M in upgraded care facilities

MANOLO FORTICH, Bukidnon (PIA)--The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 10 inaugurated civil works amounting to P45 million for its Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCF) on April 18 in Alae, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

These infrastructure developments include a powerhouse, pump house, storage facility for two centers, roadway network, parking area, terrace rehabilitation, fire detection and alarm system with sprinklers, rehabilitation of the home life building with electrical and painting works, and an ecumenical chapel.

DSWD Assistant Secretary for Statutory Programs Ada Colico, Director Rowela Hizon, and Mayor Rogelio Quiño of Manolo Fortich municipality served as the guests of honor at the ceremony.

Colico emphasized that these developments align with the management's goal to maintain a level 3, or centers of excellence accreditation, and accredit all CRCFs. 

She commended DSWD-10 for having four of its five centers recognized as Centers of Excellence.

The newly inaugurated Bahay Silungan, intended for street children and street families, is set to undergo center accreditation and aims to achieve level 3 status.

DSWD Assistant Secretary Ada Colico emphasized the importance of the P45 million civil works project for the Level 3 or Center of Excellence accreditation of all DSWD centers and residential care facilities. (DSWD-10)

Assistant Regional Directors Ronald Ryan Cui (Operations) and Salmah Basher (Administration) led the Field Office 10 management committee.

In his speech, Cui explained that this project is client-centered.

“Today holds immense importance, particularly for the residents and rehabilitation programs at the five centers. These facilities will provide a safe, conducive, and supportive environment, allowing our clients to receive the care, support, and rehabilitation services they need to thrive,” he said.

The construction project, which began in December 2023, was completed within four months. (DSWD-10/PIA 10-Bukidnon)
