Bohol to launch 'Kadiwa ng Pangulo' on March 15

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA) -- In response to soaring food prices, the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) program will be launched in the province on March 15 at the Old Tagbilaran City Airport to provide Boholanos with fresh and affordable agricultural and fishery products.

The provincial government led by Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado partnered with national government agencies for the Kadiwa launching at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

The three-day Kadiwa will run until March 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Over 100 exhibitors will join the Kadiwa composed of local farmers, farmers' groups, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) who will sell fresh fruits, vegetables, rice, fish, meat, processed products, and handicrafts at low prices.

“Nalipay ako sa umaabot nga paglusad dinhe sa atong lalawigan sa KADIWA ng Pangulo nga ipahigayon sa Old Tagbilaran Airport, karong Marso 15," said Aumentado.

(I am happy about the upcoming launch of our province's KADIWA ng Pangulo that will be held at the Old Tagbilaran Airport, this March 15.)

Aumentado will lead the Kadiwa launching with Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, Usec. Terence Calatrava, as guest of honor.

Kadiwa (Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita) is a convergence program to ensure food supply in the countryside.

It is in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Agriculture (DA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

Initiated by Pres. Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., the Kadiwa program aims to provide consumers access to affordable and quality products, particularly fresh produce, while also assisting farmers, fishermen and micro-enterprises in selling their products at fair prices in the market. (ECB/PIA7-Bohol)
