TESDA gives away toolkits to course graduates in Camiguin

CAMIGUIN (PIA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) distributed a total of 67 toolkits to the graduates of the Camiguin School of Arts and Trades (CSAT) who completed courses in Cookery NC II and Bread and Pastry Production NC II at Mahinog, Camiguin, on April 4.

There were 25 graduates of Cookery NC II and 42 graduates of Bread and Pastry Production NC II who were all part of the 2023 Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) Scholarship, which was funded through the congressional allocation of Rep. Jurdin Jesus M. Romualdo.

“The purpose of the toolkits is for employment. From the word ‘employment’ ma-apply ninyo, maka-income mo through the toolkits nga inyong gidawat karon,” Gonzaga said.

Webb I. Bajenio, who represented Gov. Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo, graced the distribution event alongside Mayor Rey Lawrence K. Tan and Barangay Captains Corazon B. Chua of Barangay Poblacion, Roberto Dagadas of Barangay Catohugan, and Oliver N. Cocamas of Barangay Hubangon.

Also in attendance were officials from the CSAT, led by Vocational School Administrator Karol Sanggomay P. Ranalan and Acting Provincial Director Lonie B. Gonzaga of TESDA Camiguin.

She emphasized that through these toolkits, the graduates become more equipped with skills, paving the way for their employment.

“Atong ipaambit, ipaabot kaninyo ang para kaninyo, para nga ang inyong kalisod, ang atong kalisod maalibyuhan,” Bajenio stated.

(We will share; we will convey to you what is meant for you, so that your difficulty and our difficulty will be relieved.)

He also shared that having these essential toolkits can benefit them long-term in their chosen careers.

Tan also mentioned the efforts made by TESDA Camiguin and other contributing sectors to make this distribution possible. This initiative gives practical knowledge and skills to determined and committed individuals as they continue to pursue accessible education with the government's help. (MGAB/PIA-10/Camiguin)
