128 youth complete DOLE's internship program in Camiguin

CAMGIUIN (PIA) --  A total of 128 interns from the province concluded their internships under the Department of Labor and Employment's (DOLE) Government Internship Program (GIP) on February 29 at the Convention Center, Capitol Hills Pandan, Mambajao, here

Arlyn Z. Bael, chief of DOLE-10 Camiguin Provincial Field Office, emphasized the significance of the program, highlighting its partnership with the provincial government led by Gov. Xavier Jesus Romualdo. 

She reiterated that GIP plays a crucial role in equipping the youth with valuable government work experiences, ultimately bolstering their employability in a competitive job market.

"GIP boosts the employability of the youth, which comprises the country’s population and vulnerable groups, by capacitating them with appropriate government work experiences," said Bael, underscoring the program's broader impact on the nation's workforce development

Among the beneficiaries of the GIP, Mar Honey Abian and Paula Vialyn Lopena expressed their gratitude for the program, acknowledging the challenges faced by fresh graduates and first-time job seekers. 

They highlighted the critical role of work experience in securing employment opportunities, emphasizing that GIP provides a platform for them to gain the necessary skills and insights needed to thrive in their respective fields.

Bael added that the commencement of the GIP internship program in Camiguin marks a promising start for the participating interns, as they take on a journey of personal and professional growth, guided by the principles of service, dedication, and excellence.  (DOLE-Camiguin/PIA-10/ Camiguin)
