Disadvantaged workers in Tudela, Aloran avail DOLE-TUPAD program

TUDELA, Misamis Occidental (PIA) -- About 107 of the town’s disadvantaged workers got a total of P433,350 in wages during a payout under the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE)-10 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program in Tudela, Misamis Occidental.

DOLE-10 Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office Chief Ebba Borbon Acosta said each beneficiary got P4,050 total for their 10-day work, or P405 per day based on the region’s minimum wage rate. She said the financial aid augments the income of the poor and vulnerable workers’ living conditions.

Meanwhile, 211 emergency-employed disadvantaged Aloran worker beneficiaries availed of the TUPAD program in Aloran Misamis Occidental.

DOLE-10 Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Occ. PFO) Chief Ebba Borbon-Acosta stated that the orientation was conducted in partnership with accredited co-partner Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) Taguanao. Discussions focused on program guidelines under Department Order No. 239-23 and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards, especially the proper wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) during work. 

The 10 days’s work started on March 18 and ended on April 2 with a daily minimum wage rate of P428.
